Discipleship
The discipleship process is more than teaching people the right knowledge about God. A disciple models him or herself after someone. Making disciples of Jesus goes beyond teaching facts about Jesus. It means teaching people how to know and be like Jesus — to obey God and seek His best for their lives.
A message about Discipleship & Level Up from Pastor Jim Webb:
When I combine the reminder of discipled education in our faith with the vapid expressions of spiritualism in our modern world; It creates a challenge within my heart. I have expressed this challenge with our company of pastors and various committees all of which agree that there is a need for expanded Christian education uniquely now. They also agreed that we are all in different places of growth within our discipleship journeys. What may challenge and satisfy one group may not be what is needed for others. We are at different levels of need for lack of a better term. From this discussion and collaboration, the concept of ‘Level Up’ was revealed. So, with this idea in mind, our Christian education format will begin a new adaptation to all classes based upon levels of teaching.
Levels are L1, L2, L3, and L4
which reflect the diversity of our membership
and their journey in discipleship.
Please see the schedule below for current offerings.

This is a level 3 class that will explore specific disciplines outlined in Richard Foster’s book Celebration of Disciple. Weeks 1 & 2 will focus on the inward disciplines of meditation, fasting, prayer, and study.
Weeks 3 & 4 will be dedicated to the outward disciplines of simplicity, solitude, submission, and service. Weeks 5 & 6 will delve into the corporate disciplines of confession, worship, guidance, and celebration.
If you are interested in having a copy of the book it is available in both print and as an eBook from Amazon (Link to Buy) or you can let Pastor Larry know and he’ll ensure a copy is available to you.
One of the explicit goals is to ensure that participants approach the disciplines in grateful response to God’s gracious gifts, not another set of works that are like filthy rags. Another goal is to enable us to exercise our spirits in these disciplines for developing spiritual maturity in much the same way as an athletes exercise their mind and body for physical improvement. These goals are predicated on the Holy Spirit’s power and prompting.

Growing Up in Christ: The Means of Grace with Pastor Emeritus Bob Dooling
Level 3
Sundays from 11:30am - 12:30pm
Room 100
On the day I was baptized, the pastor asked this question. Do you intend to make diligent use of the means of grace. I of course answered, “Yes” – even though I had no idea what he was asking.
Sometime later, I discovered that he was referencing a handful of practices that are found in Scripture and that promote spiritual growth in Christian believers. They are habits of devotion, habits of experiential Christianity that have been practiced by God’s people since biblical times.
Come join us as we explore and celebrate these classical disciplines.
